WORKSHOP ON ANGEL INVESTING FOR STARTUPS IN MIZORAM, 16TH SEPTEMBER, 2019

            The workshop was chaired by Dr. C. Vanlalramsanga, Secretary to the Govt. of Mizoram, Planning & Programme Implementation Department. The workshop hosted eminent experts in the field of entrepreneurship and mentoring of startups, including –

1.      Mr. Srikant Sastri, Chairman of the Board for Indian Institute of Management Calcutta Innovation Park (IIMCIP)

2.      Mr. Subrangshu Sanyal, CEO, IIMCIP

3.      Dr. James Lalthansanga, TATA TRUSTS

4.      Mr.  Pramod Kumar Joshi, Chief Mentor, EDC-GLA University, Mathura

5.      Mr. Rinzuala, Managing Director, Mizoram State Cooperative Marketing and Consumers' Federation LTD. (MIZOFED)

6.      Dr. Laldinliana, Coordinator, Mizoram University Incubation Centre

Prominent entrepreneurs from the business community of Mizoram attended the workshop.

The objective of the workshop was to analyse the present scenario in the context of areas of deficiency and bottlenecks faced by startups in Mizoram, to facilitate the setting up of an angel network and inform the participants on the importance of angel investors and modalities of angel investing.

The workshop identified the need for coordinated effort from all; from the govt. from the private sector, from the banking community and from the society at large to create an atmosphere conducive to developing entrepreneurship.

The workshop ended with a commitment made by all the participants to become part of angel network in Mizoram for providing mentoring, handholding support and funding in the form of angel investment for the budding startup of the State.
